Plight

Inspiration Behind 'Plight'

'Plight' is a deeply personal and symbolic work.  An angel rendered in a stained glass style, standing not just as a figure of light, but of endurance, purpose, and faith.

Created with acrylic and oil on a large 48"W x 60"H x 1.5"D gallery-wrapped canvas, this piece carries texture, story, and quiet power. The background holds a sacred layer with pages from the Bible carefully integrated into the composition. Painted over with a transparent technique, fragments of scripture still emerge through the paint, as if softly speaking.

This angel doesn’t float above the struggle, it stands within it.  Luminous but grounded. The title, Plight, reflects both human vulnerability and spiritual strength.  A reminder that light and burden often exist side by side.

Every brushstroke, every chosen verse, is part of a larger message: that even in trial, beauty is born. That divinity can be found in the layered and imperfect.

This original piece is ready to hang and designed to speak to hearts, to homes, to sacred spaces.
